Venue lists are usually written from the point of view of catering and capacity. This one is written from behind a camera. After three decades of shooting weddings across Multan we have a fairly clear idea of which venues photograph beautifully, which ones need extra lighting brought in, and what to look at before you sign.
What Makes a Venue Good to Photograph
Before the list, it is worth knowing what we are actually judging. Four things decide whether a venue is easy or difficult to shoot in:
- Ceiling height — high ceilings let us bounce flash for soft, natural light. Low ceilings force direct flash, which is harsher
- Wall and ceiling colour — white and cream reflect clean light; dark red or heavily patterned interiors absorb it and tint skin tones
- Stage lighting — coloured LED washes look dramatic to the eye and turn faces green or magenta on camera
- Outdoor space — somewhere to step outside for couple portraits during golden hour is worth more than any indoor feature
Venue Types Around Multan
Marquees on Bosan Road
The strip along Bosan Road has the highest concentration of marquees in the city. They tend to be spacious with high ceilings, which is good news for lighting, and most have parking and lawn space attached. The lawn matters — it gives us somewhere to take the couple for portraits without a long drive.
Halls in Gulgasht Colony
Convenient and central, especially for families living in the area. Indoor halls here are generally smaller with lower ceilings, so we bring additional lighting rather than relying on what is installed. Perfectly good results, just more equipment.
DHA Multan venues
The newer venues in DHA are typically well built with neutral interiors and modern lighting. They photograph cleanly with very little intervention. Wide approach roads also make barat arrival shots and drone coverage straightforward.
Farmhouses outside the city
For a daytime or early-evening function, a farmhouse is hard to beat. Open space, greenery, natural light and complete privacy. The trade-off is that after dark you are entirely dependent on lighting that is brought in, so budget for that.
Hotel banquet halls
Reliable and predictable. Consistent lighting, staff who are used to working around photographers, and usually a decent lobby or staircase for formal portraits. Less character than a marquee, but nothing goes wrong.
Home functions
Dholki and smaller mehndi functions at home produce some of the warmest photographs we take, precisely because everyone is relaxed. Space is tight and lighting is domestic, so a photographer who knows how to work in a crowded room matters more here than anywhere else.
What to Check Before You Book
Visit the venue at the same time of day as your function. A hall that looks bright at noon can be very different at 9pm. While you are there, check:
- Is there a separate, private room for the bride to get ready in?
- How high is the ceiling, and what colour is it?
- Is the stage lighting adjustable, or fixed coloured LEDs?
- Is there outdoor space usable for portraits?
- Does the venue allow drone flying, and is it in a permitted zone?
- Are there power points near the stage for our lighting?
- What time do you have to vacate — does that cut off the rukhsati?
The One Thing That Matters Most
If your venue has a private bridal room, use it. Ten minutes in a quiet room with soft light produces better bridal portraits than an hour on a crowded stage under coloured lights. Every experienced photographer will tell you the same thing, and it costs nothing to arrange.

Which type of venue photographs best in Multan?

Does venue lighting really affect the photos that much?
Yes, more than almost anything else. Coloured LED stage lighting looks impressive in person but casts green or magenta tones onto skin. We correct this with our own lighting, but it is worth knowing before you book.
Should I choose an indoor or outdoor wedding venue?
Outdoor works beautifully between October and March and gives you natural light and space. Indoor is safer for summer and for late-night functions. Many couples in Multan use an outdoor lawn for the early part and move indoors later.
Can you fly a drone at any wedding venue?
No. Areas near Multan International Airport and parts of the Cantt are restricted, and the venue owner must also agree. Tell us the venue when booking and we will confirm what is possible.
